Home Whitening

With this system, impressions are taken and clear gum shields custom-made to fit perfectly over your teeth. At home, you simply put the special gel in the trays and wear them overnight, typically for 14 nights or until you achieve your desired level of whiteness.

The Home Whitening system also allows you to top up as you feel necessary, with no need to come in for another appointment. Some people top up once a month, others once a year. It’s entirely up to you and the look you wish to maintain.

Office Whitening + Home Whitening

You can go for the 2 systems in combination, for even better results: Zoom! First and then the Home Whitening system for 3-4 nights or, again, until you’re happy with the result. Or, some Patients opt for Home Whitening first and then decide to upgrade to Office Whitening and Zoom.

Dental implant surgery involves having at least one operation. You need to have healthy gums and your jawbone needs to be strong enough to hold the implants.

Some dentists won't insert dental implants if you smoke, as it can affect how well the treatment works. Implants are also less likely to work if you’ve had radiotherapy. Some medical conditions, might affect how well implants work but more research is needed to know for sure. It’s possible that your dentist might not recommend you have implants if you have either of these conditions. Your dentist will let you know if implants are an option for you. 

How long your procedure will take will depend on how many implants you’re having and how complicated the procedure is. It’s possible to have several implants fitted in the same procedure, and this will naturally take longer. If you’re just having one implant fitted in an immediate implant procedure (see below), it should take about half an hour.

Once the anaesthetic has taken effect, your dentist will make a cut in your gum and drill a small hole in your jawbone. The implant will fit into this hole. 

Fitting of abutments

Dental implants have an internal screw called an abutment that holds a false tooth (or teeth) in place. Your dentist can fit the implant and the abutment in one or two stages.

In two-stage treatment, the implant rod will be buried under your gum while your bone heals (you won’t see it in your mouth). You’ll have another operation a few months later to attach the abutment.

After your mouth, has healed, you’ll have another operation to uncover your gum over the top of the implant. Your dentist will then fit your artificial tooth or teeth onto the implant. The teeth may be fixed in place or you may be able to remove them when you need to clean them. Your dentist will make sure that they fit properly, match your other teeth and feel comfortable.

The first step is to place a few implants usually 4 and less for about six months for integration with the bone. Second phase of the treatment is to facilitate dentures on top of these implants.

Amalgam filling could be esthetically displeasing and many people dislike them. With advent of newer products we can now disguise the fillings using composite fillings which is light cured and molded into particular form which mimics one’s own natural tooth. We also undertake Composite "art restorations", hand-crafted cosmetic dentistry of the highest order, where different shades are placed in layers so as to match even the finest change in colour to match the natural colour of your teeth with utmost precision are created by hand, to an extremely high level of colour matching to your own teeth.

Our masters ceramist trained from New York Dental School, we also provide can also porcelain Inlay and Onlay restorations for large cavities or to replace old fillings, which avoids the need for crowns and reinforces the tooth for long term survival.

Certain situations we prefer using amalgam filling which would have longevity and less problems on long term basis.

Riverway Dental is very proud to offer metal free crown which are pressed porcelain crowns which could exact colour match of your teeth. We also fabricate zirconium crowns which are hard porcelain which have higher strength than the pressed porcelain.

If you have missing tooth its best to replace them as soon as possible .One of the options is to supply a tooth by grinding down one or two sound teeth on either side of this missing tooth. Here, bridges are made using zirconium porcelain which has higher strength. At Riverway, we use the finest ceramic materials to create dental bridges and replacement fixtures that look and feel like natural teeth.
